Computational Biologist / Bioinformatician

Looking to spend time in an interesting location? SimuGen is now establishing some operations in Kuala Lumpur. The company is looking for a highly driven, independent bioinfomatician to conduct the R&D through to product implementation in Malaysia.

This initial posting will last 8 months, however the role has the potential to grow into an exciting position, with highly competitive rewards for achieving crucial company milestones.

Role & Responsibilities

1. Manage experimental data quality control
2. Literature and database searches for toxicicologically relevant genes.
3. Format and manage gene expression data for analysis.
4. Work closely with the Chief Scientific Officer (UK) and the S-plus server team.
5. Assist with industry collaboration

Skills Required

1. Gene expression analysis (microarrays, qPCR) - crucial
2. Ability to do database and literature searches for candidate genes - crucial
3. R programming skills - highly valued
